I tried to do some stampin' yesterday, but the mojo just wasn't working!  I'll try again tomorrow....need to open up the new framelits and matching snowflakes.  Might be time to create an ornament or two.

More toys...

Here are some gift card holders using the Pop 'n Cuts die.  The woman who designed this die for Stampin' Up!, Karen Burniston, gave a demonstration at Convention.  She suggested using the adhesive shelf liner so you can see if you paper is in the right place on the die.  I figured if it was good enough for her, it was good enough for me!  LOL!  The two pictures above show the die base only, and it makes a cute, easy gift card holder.  Now, scroll down....

These pictures show the fancy gift card holders using the insert, Label Pop 'n Cuts.  I forgot to put the insert in the die base for the picture, but it is magnetic and you can't really screw it up.  This one takes a few more steps, but you have all sorts of options.

Ooohh, new toys!

I finally had some time last weekend to play with some new things.  One of them was the new die from the Holiday Catalog - Gift Bow Bigz L Die (p. 37, $32.95, item #129977).  I'll be using this die in the Tags class and we'll make a bow.  SO EASY!  Oh my word...I'll be making bows for everything!

I put adhesive shelf liner on the die and ran it through the Big Shot, then peeled off the cut pieces.  I did this so I could use scraps of paper but could see if they were large enough to cover the area that needed to be cut.  Works like a charm!  These bows really are very simple - consider purchasing the die to make your holiday wrapping so faster (and cheaper!).  And it will make all your gifts, no matter the season, look so smart!

I'm back! And I bring Holiday news!

Hello all.  I didn't mean to be away so long, but I had a trial this week that ended last night.  And my paralegal was on vacation so I was doing her job as well as mine!  Needless to say, I'm a bit exhausted...

But!  I just got word from Stampin' Up! that they have released Holiday Single Stamps!

Swap Board Display

Here's a picture of the swap display board.  I took 160 swaps to Convention, so I have 160 in exchange to look at!  Obviously, this is only a few of them....I ran out of adhesives so I have to get more to finish the display.  It allows me to look at color combos and use of stamps in a different way.  It is available for you to look at and photograph so you can get creative ideas too!

Love the Framelits!

New Thinlits Card Dies

The flyer is a little hard to hop over to my website for a close up (  This die makes "flip" or "swing" cards - so you don't have to do all the measuring and cutting - it does it for you!  How cool is that!  We saw these at Convention and the whole room just gasped when we saw the dies.  Some lucky Demonstrators won them in Prize Patrol...but I wasn't one of them, so I just placed my order.  There will be some cards on September's Card Buffets using these Framelits.  I can't wait to get them!

Special Swap for Special Friends

Hello all.  This is the card I made for our last night in Salt Lake City.  My friends from Canada love sushi so we ended our trip with a dinner at Naked Fish.  I'm learning to like sushi if it's cooked....raw is just bait to me.

This used Cherry Cobbler card stock and ink - my favorite for holiday cards.  Also, the white and gold card stock were cut with the Floral Frames and Labels Collection framelits.  I used the Fancy Fan embossing folder for the gold and put a Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon on for some texture.  The sentiment is from one of last year's stamp sets that carried over.  I don't have the flyer in front of me, so if you are interested in that stamp, let me know and I'll get the flyer to you.  I may put it on my blog (after I find it!).  This card is available on the August Card Buffets.

Last swap for the general swapping at Convention

Here is the last card I made for the general swapping at Convention.  It is fun, you walk around with your cards in your hands and ask strangers, "are you swapping?".  Kind of a weird thing if you think about it...

This uses Soft Sky card stock as the base, white run through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot embossing folder and water color paper cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits.  I used Staz-on ink for the flower which is from the Best of Flowers collection.  That is one of the monthly stamp sets being released to celebrate the 25th anniversary.  I love flowers so this was just right for me.  I used the blender pen to put the Pistachio Pudding and Blushing Bride ink on the flower.  This card will be available for the August and September Card Buffets.  The dates are August 5th (2 seats available), August 10th (8 seats available), September 7th and September 30th (8 seats available both days).  Cost is $16 for a Card Buffet and you make 8 cards of your choice from the selection.  Hope you'll consider coming!

Another Swap of mine....

Hi.  Here is another swap I made.  I created 3 designs and did 50 of each.  On the final night, I had a swap with 10 close friends at dinner so I didn't have to make so many of that design!  I can only make about 50 of the same card before I get bored.....

This card used the new color, Strawberry Slush (a little hard to see here) as the base, with Rich Razzleberry ink for the flowers and sentiment.  Vellum card stock was punched out with the new Pansy punch with the Flower Shop stamp underneath it.  The sentiment is from Regarding Dahlias.  I used the Itty Bitty Punch pack to punch out small Strawberry Slush flowers and used our white gel pen for the dots in the center.  I loved this card, but was surprised by its popularity at Convention.  This is the one everyone wanted to swap for!  This card is also featured in the August Card Buffet.

Sharing one of my Convention Swaps

Hello all.  I'm still unpacking from my trip to Salt Lake City for Stampin' Up!'s 25 anniversary convention.  It was an amazing time...with 5,800 people in attendance!  I made 160 "swaps" to exchange with other demonstrators.  It helps me see other stamps and punches "in action" and makes me think outside of my comfort zone in terms of color combinations.  I'll be posting my swaps in the next few days and then I'll share some of my favorites that I got in return.  Keep stamping!

I love the simplicity of this one.  I used Smokey Slate ink, stamped off to make it lighter, and Melon Mambo for the sentiment.  The cake is from Embellished Events and the Happy Birthday is from Sassy Salutations.  A little Dazzling Details added to the candles gives it some inexpensive bling!  This is one of the cards on the August Card Buffet, held on Aug. 5th (2 seats left) and August 10th (8 seats available).  Cost is $16 and you make 8 cards of your choice.  Hope you'll consider joining us!  Just have to bring your own adhesives (and I suggest you bring card making tools to make your life easier).  Contact me if you have questions.

Be the Difference was the theme this year at Convention....and I think we were!  All 5,800 of us!  We took over Salt Lake City (not sure they'll be the same again...).  But it was a great convention and I am re-energized with ideas - and WAIT till you see the new products coming out!  Oh many choices.  I'll be posting more pictures in the days to come.  Keep stampin'!
